ABOUT OUR COMPANY

Based out of San Antonio, Texas, Castle Ragtime Company is a group focused on promoting ragtime music, history, and community. To promote ragtime music we highlight contemporary works and artists in addition to the timeless classics. To promote the study of ragtime history we preserve a large collection of original prints from the ragtime era and make them available free of charge. To promote community we engage with our local ragtime scene and encourage others to connect from around the world. We hope to inspire new interest in America’s original popular music by making it easier than ever to enjoy it.

Founded in 2014 by Christopher C. Castillo, Castle Rag. Co. began as ragtime music publisher inspired by those of the original era. A focus on authenticity required a large amount of studying and source material. It didn’t take long before the concept grew into a way of sharing ragtime music with the world. We work to enable the next generation of ragtime composers and historians with the resources available to us.

Ragtime, America’s native music, is here to stay. Through the efforts of enthusiasts, historians, preservationists, and people like you, ragtime’s music and history will continue to entertain and educate for generations to come.
