Based out of San Antonio, Texas, Castle Ragtime Company is more than just a music publisher, we’re a cultural activist. We not only publish the works of contemporary ragtime composers, we also preserve an ever-growing collection of hundreds of original prints from the ragtime era for future generations to study and enjoy. We hope to inspire new interest in America’s original popular music by making it easier than ever to enjoy it.
Founded in 2014 by Christopher C. Castillo, Castle Rag. Co. draws its inspiration from the golden years of ragtime with the goal to create new ragtime sheet music in authentic style. It didn’t take long before the concept evolved into a way of sharing ragtime music with the world.
The company’s mission is two-fold. Firstly, we’re dedicated to the preservation and promotion of ragtime music, history, and culture. Secondly, we seek to enable the next generation of ragtime by providing resources and support to new composers as well as publishing and promoting new ragtime music.
Ragtime is America’s native music and it is here to stay. Through the efforts of enthusiasts, historians, preservationists, and people like you, ragtime’s music and history will continue to entertain and educate for generations to come.
